Full Service New Builds & Renovations

We partner with your architect from day one, creating a comprehensive plan that eliminates guesswork and ensures success from start to finish. By planning each space specifically for you before construction begins, we choose furnishings, fixtures, and finishes that support your unique habits and lifestyle — building not just to your vision, but from it.

Throughout construction, we collaborate closely with your contractor and trades, providing detailed renderings and technical drawings that communicate every design element down to the smallest detail. This approach prevents costly mistakes and ensures every inch of your custom home is truly tailored to you.

Full Service Furnishings & Styling

For furnishing and styling of existing homes, we’ll transform your space without the construction dust. We help you identify what works and what doesn’t, then create a custom design concept that maximizes flow, function, and style. From furnishings, rugs, and art to lighting, wallpaper, and hardware, we curate and source each item, managing orders, shipments, and installation so you don’t have to.

Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • Full Service Design is ideal for homeowners who want a beautifully tailored home without managing all the moving parts themselves. Whether you're building new or renovating, this service is perfect if you want expert guidance from start to finish — from layout and finishes to furnishings and styling — with every detail thoughtfully handled for you.

  • We like to be transparent with our pricing. Our Full Service Projects are broken down into 3 separate fees. A flat rate design fee based on your scope which covers Phase 1 and 2 of the design process. A tiered admin fee based on your spend on furnishing which covers procurement and install days. Lastly, a project management retainer which we remit from during phases 3-5 for all communication/meetings with the client, trades, contractors, etc. outside of install day(s).

  • Our full-service design projects begin with a design fee starting at $10 per square foot for new builds and full-home renovations, or $10,000 for kitchen and bath remodels. For furnishing and styling projects, the design fee starts at $6,000.

In addition to the design fee, we require a minimum furnishings investment of $50,000 for all new build, full-home renovation, and full-service furnishing projects. This ensures we can source high-quality pieces and create a polished, fully styled result.

Kitchen and bath remodels are not required to meet the furnishings minimum.

Most of our full-home clients invest between $150,000–$350,000+ on furnishings, depending on home size, number of rooms, and overall scope.

  • The furnishings minimum covers all the soft and hard goods that make your space functional and beautiful — including furniture, rugs, window treatments, lighting fixtures used in décor (not construction), art, accessories, and styling pieces. It also includes the cost of procurement, shipping, delivery, receiving, storage, and installation.

Items like tile, plumbing fixtures, cabinetry, built-ins, hardware, wallpaper, and construction lighting — which are part of the renovation or build phase — are not included in the furnishings minimum.

  • Depending on your project the following is usually included, but will be detailed out in your design proposal:

    • In-take meeting

    • Measuring/scanning/photographing of all spaces being designed

    • Conceptional Design creation and presentation meeting

    • Developmental Design creation and presentation meeting

    • One round of revisions

    • 3-D renders (when applicable)

    • Trade day (renovation/new build only)

    • Procurement/Ordering product and managing delivery

    • Coordinating trades (hired by us)

    • Contractor Binder

    • Managing deficiencies

    • Communication with the client and contractor

    • Install day(s)

    • Seeing your project through to completion

  • Each project is unique, and timelines vary based on scope, size, and level of customization. A full-service furnishing project typically takes 4–6 months, while renovation or new construction projects can range from 6 months to over a year, depending on construction timelines and permitting. During our initial consultation, we’ll provide a more tailored estimate and walk you through each phase of the process to set clear expectations from the start.

  • Designing or renovating a home is exciting, but it can also be an emotional rollercoaster. At times, you’ll feel inspired and energized—especially during design presentations and installation. Other times, particularly during construction or waiting for items on backorder, it can feel stressful or uncertain. That’s completely normal. Our role is to guide you through the ups and downs, communicate clearly at every step, and advocate for your vision so the process feels as smooth and supported as possible.

  • For a furnishings project, Maya Axt Interiors handles all aspects of purchasing furniture and fixtures. This streamlined process allows clients to focus on the bigger picture while leaving the details to us.

  • When placing orders directly with our vendors, many require full payment. For those who just take a deposit, taking full payment when we present the furnishings proposal helps ensure that when the balance is due we already have the funds on hand and can quickly pay our vendors.

  • We can make recommendations and can also partner with yours. In the end, it is your decision to make.

  • Yes, our past clients would love to speak to you.

  • The Conceptual Design Phase is the initial stage where we develop the overarching vision and theme for a space. We review your homework, gather inspiration and aim to understand your needs. By the end of this phase you will receive mood board(s), color scheme(s), and spatial layouts that we will go over to hone in on a clearer design direction and guide the development of more detailed plans.

  • During the Developmental Design phase, you can expect a more refined version of the design concept to take shape. This phase focuses on finalizing the layout, materials, and finishes based on initial feedback, ensuring everything aligns with your vision and functional needs. Detailed plans and elevations are created to give a clear representation of the space. Additionally, this stage includes selecting furniture, fixtures, and finishes, while considering the budget and timeline. At the end of this phase, you will have an in-person design meeting where you will see the final design direction, including samples of proposed materials, and have the opportunity for adjustments before moving into the execution phase.

The Full Service Design Process

  • You fill out the inquiry form on our website and we send you a link to schedule a complimentary 20-minute call to discuss your project needs, answer your questions, and see if we’re a good fit. If you're excited and inspired after our conversation, we can arrange an in-home design consultation.

  • The Design Consultation kick-starts our projects. At this in-person meeting, we want to learn all about you, your family and how you live. We walk through your spaces collecting all the details for your project and use the information we gathered to create a custom proposal.

  • After carefully assessing your needs and the time and resources required for your project, we prepare a detailed Design Fee Proposal. This document details the scope of work for the entire project and the flat rate design fees ONLY. Once approved and design fee payment is received, we send out a welcome email with your homework and we schedule your intake meeting to kick off your project.

  • This is where the fun begins! We will go over your homework, including a questionnaire and Pinterest Board that you will fill out. From that, we create mood boards, color stories and layouts that will give you an idea of the look and feel we will go after. This is based on your style aesthetic, needs, desired feeling for the space, and overall design vision. Once everything is ready we will present them to you.

  • After we receive your Conceptual Design presentation feedback, we will get to work on your Developmental Design presentation. Depending on the scope of your project, we will then spend a few weeks/months selecting all the items listed in your proposal, creating design boards and elevations where applicable.

When the final design is approved, we create a document with all materials and finishes selections for the home that is used as a roadmap throughout the purchasing and/or renovation process.

  • Once the design is approved, we proceed with ordering approved items and sharing the finalized plans with your builder or contractor through the construction binder. All items are delivered to our receiving warehouse, where they are carefully inspected and stored until we are ready to have them installed. If any items are damaged, we’ll handle the issue directly with the vendor to ensure a smooth process and no delays in the schedule.

  • During this phase, you will get to see your project come to life as the magic begins to happen. Renovations and all work needed to be done by trades prior to install day will be completed. We will then schedule your install which can be anywhere from one day to a week depending on the size of the project. This is when all your new furniture will be delivered and we will style your space to perfection! We will give you that HGTV reveal you have been dreaming about and you get to move in!

  • At this point, the final design has been executed and your home is ready for you to enjoy! We will schedule a final walk-through to review your space together to make sure you are happy with the result. During the walk-through, we will make sure everything has been completed and note anything that needs to be resolved. Finally, we will schedule a day to professionally photograph your space. We conclude each project with something special for you (it’s a surprise, we can’t say!) and a home guide to care for your completed space for years to come!

Live in the home you’ve been waiting for: expertly designed, fully furnished, and beautifully styled, just for you.
